Mick and Karen Charmasson purchased Family Discount Drug in July 1994. At that time, the drug store was located south of Oklahoma Avenue next to Devine’s. They moved to 2116 Oklahoma Avenue next to United Supermarket and renamed the business Mick’s Family Pharmacy, where they proudly served the community for nearly 28 years. As of June 2022, Mick’s Pharmacy is now a part of the Medic Pharmacy group, with the new name Medic Pharmacy & Gifts.
Choosing the appropriate time to retire was difficult for Mick and Karen. The decision was made easier because they were able to pass the mortar and pestle to their granddaughter, McKayla Trout, PharmD, DPh. McKayla’s stepfather, Greg Huenergardt, is the owner of the Medic Pharmacy group.
